Reflecting on DECC
As I take up my new position as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, I am pleased to be able to look back at the work that Amber, Nick and I did as the Energy & Climate Change ministerial team.
I started my journey as the Energy Minister in the certain knowledge that we had to do everything possible to tackle the energy trilemma; keeping the lights on at the lowest possible cost to consumers and businesses whilst continuing to decarbonise the energy sector.
As our new Prime Minister Theresa May gets stuck into delivering on the referendum result and leaving the EU, I am confident that our energy security will always remain non-negotiable, and that the energy sector’s future continues to be bright.
