Re-elected & Leader of the House
I am exceptionally grateful that, for a third time, you have chosen me to represent you in Westminster and to be your local champion for the issues that matter to you. Shortly before polling day, I published my “manifesto for South Northamptonshire” which sets out a number of priorities that I will be working on for you in this Parliament, based on the issues that residents have raised with me over the last two years. If you have any thoughts on any of these ten points, or other areas you would like me to focus on as well, please do get in touch.
It was an honour to serve in Theresa May’s first Cabinet as her Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and I am very proud of all of the excellent work that my team and I accomplished together. You can read more about some of those achievements here. The Prime Minister has now asked me to take on the exciting new role as Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons in her second Cabinet, and I am looking forward to the work ahead as we start the negotiations on our future relationship with the EU and deliver on last year’s Referendum decision. You can find out more about what being Leader of the House involves here.
Earlier today I gave my first Business Statement to the House of Commons, and you can watch it in full here.
Whether you voted for me or not, I promise that I will do all that I can to work on behalf of all residents of South Northamptonshire and my door is always open through my regular advice surgeries if you would like to come and speak to me directly about any issue of concern. You can also contact me via email or hard post, on the ‘phone through my constituency office, or through the online form on this website.
Thank you for placing your trust in me once again.
