Horton Judgement

Like many residents, I was disappointed that Mr Justice Mostyn found against the four councils and the Keep The Horton General local action group in the judicial review they brought against the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group.

However, I note his critical remarks about the split nature of the CCG’s consultation process, the delays in the provision of important data by the CCG, and other points. My colleague Victoria Prentis, Member of Parliament for North Oxfordshire, has written to the Secretary of State for Health to ask for a meeting as soon as possible to discuss Mr Justice Mostyn’s judgement. Victoria has outlined that, in his concluding remarks, Mr Justice Mostyn made clear that the Health Secretary has wide-ranging powers at his disposal, including the ability to make a direction that the public consultation be re-run.

I have written to Jeremy Hunt on behalf of my constituents who continue to be affected by the ongoing situation at the Horton.
