Farthinghoe Bridge Update
I’ve received an update from Cllr Ian Morris at Northamptonshire County Council regarding the progress of the repair works to the A422 at the Farthinghoe Bridge.
I am very pleased to hear that funding has been guaranteed for the repair works, and that the County Council is treating the reopening of the A422 as a top priority. Further, Ian has directly addressed the concerns locally that the road would be closed for months, and has restated the Council’s plans to be on site in the early New Year. He has also said that, following recent conversations with all parties involved, Northants Highways are now confident they will be able to begin the repairs this year and that they expect them, weather dependent, to take three weeks to complete.
Ian has said that they are now waiting for the Environment Agency to give their consent to start the works, and he is hopeful that this will be granted very soon.
You can read a full copy of Ian’s letter here, and I will of course provide a further update as soon as I have more information.
