Sulgrave Manor Lottery Win

I am delighted that Sulgrave Manor has been awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for their new project, Sharing Sulgrave Stories.

Part of the National Lottery, the Heritage Lottery Fund provides money to celebrate, look after and learn about the UK’s diverse heritage. The Fund provides grants to spaces and places like our museums, historic buildings, local parks, as well as promoting our oral history and photographic records, ensuring our nation’s heritage is there for everyone to enjoy.

Here in South Northamptonshire one of our treasured sites is Sulgrave Manor which is a superb example of a period modest Manor House and garden, and which was the home of George Washington’s direct ancestors.

The grant of £73,200 will create a new exhibition, and offer activities which will develop Sulgrave Manor’s visitor offering and improve the long term sustainability of the site.

I would encourage anyone to visit Sulgrave Manor if they have not already done so, and I am grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for ensuring the continued future of this important part of South Northamptonshire’s history.
