Towcester Relief Road Meeting Update
Following the public meeting earlier in the month on the Towcester Relief Road, I have written to the Secretary of State for Transport to update him on what we discussed.
Specifically, a number of people at the meeting had asked me to express our shared frustration that Highways England had decided not to attend. I have also highlighted Persimmon’s commitment to build the road by the end of 2021 and to fund the existing gap themselves.
You can read a copy of my letter to Chris Grayling here.
I will update when I hear back. I also intend to hold my next meeting with Persimmon and the County Council next month, and will be arranging a further public meeting later in the year.
