Andrea Leadsom Questions the Governor of the Bank of England
Last week, the Governor of the Bank England appeared in front of the Treasury Select Committee for questioning over his role in tackling inflation.
There is a real risk that having been too slow to stop QE in 2021, the Bank now raises interest rates too far and too fast, potentially leading to "overtightening" and a recession.
Hence, I asked the Governor whether the Bank considers avoiding a recession to be part of its remit here.
