Andrea Leadsom Hosts Open Door World Watch List 2024 Launch

It was an honour to host the Open Doors World Watch List 2024 Launch in Parliament this week, where we heard about some of the harrowing experiences of persecuted Christians and faith leaders.

Open Doors was founded in 1955, and for nearly 70 years has been speaking out on behalf of the 365 million (1 in 7) Christians globally who face oppression every day.

The World Watch List ranks countries by the level of persecution that Christians face there, with North Korea topping the list again this year.

4,998 Christians were killed in 2023 simply for their faith. In the West, we often take our freedom of religion and belief for granted - and we must all work together to support those who face oppression for their faith in other parts of the world.
