Visit to Brackmills Industrial Estate
I recently met with Sara Homer, CEO of Brackmills Industrial Estate in Northampton to discuss several issues including business retention and crime. We discussed the challenges that Brackmills faces on a day-to-day basis, and the positive changes that have been made to effectively combat them.
The estate has 180 units, all of which are full or in the process of being filled. From improving the car parking facilities to installing defibrillators across the estate, Sara's role is focused on providing a nation leading environment for all those businesses.
New high definition ANPR cameras that have 24/7 monitoring have been installed, improving the safety, security, and peace of mind for businesses on the estate. Sara discussed the success she has had as a result with protecting businesses from travellers arriving on forecourts with tens of caravans. We also discussed the cocaine haul that was made on the estate through the use of the cameras, preventing £250 million street-value worth of a-class drugs making its way into local communities.
The Brackmills Estate provides strong support to businesses of all sizes to grow and maintain their operation, with an excellent estate management team on hand to support them, and plans for developing more food and retail outlets on site.
