Visit to Upton Estate, Northampton
On Friday I had my now quarterly visit to the Upton Estate where I met with representatives from West Northants Council, Homes England, Keepmoat and local ward Councillors. On this visit I was also joined by some residents of Clickers Drive who quite rightly had a number of concerns relating to unfinished work on the estate, particularly at the rear entry of Clickers Drive which still lacks any kind of maintenance in spite of subsidence and recent flooding. Some remedial work had been undertaken since my last visit but there is still much to complete and on behalf of all the residents I will keep the pressure on until the estate is complete. Additionally, the resurfacing work on the High Street at the roundabout by Kiltie Street is to be completed by the 19th and 20th December.
Residents also raised concerns about a number of trip hazards on the paths, many of which will I hope soon be fixed. Parking on pavements is causing damage to kerbstones and I have asked West Northants Council if they can notify motorists to avoid doing this. I will visit the estate again in the Spring to check on what work has been completed.
