Visit to Chacombe Primary School
It was a pleasure to recently visit Chacombe CEVA Primary School as part of Parliament Week and to be put in the hot seat!
The visit is just one I have made to several local schools for Parliament Week, an annual event where students find out more about democracy and how Parliament and other forms of government work.
The children asked me about what an MP does, and what happens on a typical day. We also spoke about when I was Leader of the Commons and Lord President of the Privy Council, and had the opportunity to regularly meet with the Queen. They wanted to know why I became an MP and if I ever meet the Prime Minister!
Visiting schools is a highlight of my job, as is welcoming students and teachers to Parliament. If you would like me to visit your local school, or if you would like to arrange a school visit to Parliament, please email me on andrea.leadsom.mp@parliament.uk
