Tree Top Way Update

South Northants residents will know that I have been carefully following the decision earlier in the year to temporarily close the Tree Top Way in Salcey Forest, after safety concerns were raised about the wooden structure.

I have been in regular contact with Forest Enterprise England, and have made the case that the TTW is much loved by many people, not just in the local area but also from around the country.

I was therefore pleased to hear that, despite significant repair work being needed to make the canopy walk safe, the decision has been taken to reconstruct the lower section and make changes to the route in line with the recommendation from specialist engineers.

FEE is in the process of planning the works and securing funding, so the TTW remains closed for now, although Salcey Forest itself (including the new running trails) is open for visitors.

I know that the news that this spectacular attraction will reopen will be welcomed by all, and I will update again as soon as I have further details on timescales.
