Brackley Medical Centre Visit
Work on the new Brackley Medical Centre continues apace! I paid a visit to the new Medical Centre site yesterday to see how the build is progressing.
Despite the Coronavirus lockdown, construction is still continuing, and it is expected to be finished in the early autumn.
This fantastic new facility will ensure that patients have access to a wide array of outpatient services closer to home, and the site will have a new pharmacy, 16 step-down beds, state of the art x-ray capability, and a minor injuries unit. This multi-purpose building will also house the S2S drug and alcohol service, and has space available for charities who may want to use rooms or be based alongside healthcare services. The site will also have a café and a series of landscaped garden areas- providing spaces for visitors to see loved ones.
I was also impressed to hear about the building’s environmentally friendly credentials, with three quarters of the roof containing solar panels and efficient underfloor heating throughout.
This project will deliver huge benefits for the residents of Brackley and the surrounding area, serving patients registered at GPs in Towcester, Silverstone, Banbury, Middleton Cheney and Bicester – and I cannot wait to visit it again when it is finished later this year!
