Early Years Visit to Blackpool
As Chairman of the Early Years Healthy Development Review I have visited several local authority areas over the past few months to see the work underway to implement the Best Start for Life vision.
had a fantastic visit to Blackpool to see their Better Start programme and how it is helping families. Joining local strategic leaders for a roundtable discussion, I heard their reflections on the collective approach to improving the lives of babies and families in Blackpool. A particular highlight of the visit was meeting with babies and families at The Grange, a local community hub and taking part in their outdoor ‘The Gruffalo’ themed messy play activities!
The visit was also an opportunity to hear directly from parents about the level of support and services they feel can make the biggest difference in improving their parenting journey and members of the early years workforce.
