Visit to Canal & River Trust Museum and Cafe at Stoke Bruerne
I have many happy memories of spending family holidays on a narrow boat, so it was a real joy to pay another visit to the Canal & River Trust at the Museum and Café at Stoke Bruerne. Phil Mulligan, Regional Director and Jannette Warrener, Destinations and Attractions Manger showed me the fantastic updates they have made to the café and museum, including exhibition space and artefacts that can be viewed whilst enjoying a drink and a slice of delicious homemade cakes. They have also created a number of interactive areas for children to enjoy and learn more about the history of life on the canals.
The Museum’s volunteers – Rob, Lorna and Kathryn provided an update on their research work, and how they support the museum with fundraising and hands on work. They do a fantastic job, and I was also show the beautiful new hedge that has recently been laid by volunteers to enhance the tow path up to the Blisworth tunnel.
Do pay the Museum and Café a visit – it is a great place to stop by with family and friends!
