Visit to Towcester Church of England School
I recently visited Towcester CoE School with Miranda Wixon of TOW foods, meeting Head Teacher Sally Beaton. Staff at the school are working hard to ensure that their pupils are getting back into a routine, and spending time with their friends. I heard how tough the lockdowns have been for some, where access to online learning was challenging due to family circumstances.
During the visit, Sally showed me “the Bungalow,” a quiet space with its own enclosed garden where pupils could spend some quiet reflective time and also join the breakfast or lunch club. These clubs give the children an opportunity not only to have a nutritious and enjoyable breakfast/lunch but the opportunity to socialise with their friends. Tow Foods are doing an excellent job in supporting schools with breakfast clubs and are now delivering to over 38 schools, mainly in rural areas.
