Andrea Leadsom Meets HS2 Minister on Silverstone International

It was good to meet with HS2 Minister Huw Merriman yesterday with the CEO of Silverstone Circuit Stuart Pringle to discuss the possibility of a ‘Silverstone International’ train station on the HS2 line.

HS2 has created so much misery for our area - a train station at Silverstone would be small compensation after years of hardship, and a vital public transport link for the UK’s largest annual sporting event.

The meeting was constructive and I look forward to engaging with the DfT further on how and whether we can deliver a station at Silverstone.
