Visit to Helmdon Community Larder
Last week I attended the opening of the Helmdon Community Larder in the Reading Room by John Marchant the Vice Chair of Helmdon Parish Council and Miranda Wixon of the Hope Community Larder scheme. The new larder scheme has a membership of £10 per annum or is also available as a pay as you go scheme. Members can choose 10 items for £5 or 22 items for £10, and all fresh fruit and vegetables are free.
Well done to everyone involved in setting up the larder and for creating such a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. I was so pleased to see the event supported by residents as this is a truly worthy cause. Tea and coffee is also available with slices of delicious homemade cake for only £1!
I wish the Helmdon Community Larder great success, and encourage constituents’ to support such a valuable service.
