Visit to Simon de Senlis Primary School, East Hunsbury
On my recent visit to Simon de Senlis Primary School in East Hunsbury, their values of aspiration, high expectation and innovation were certainly on show! Joanne Fennelly, the school’s Headteacher welcomed me to the school, where I met with her great team of staff and happy children, excited for a day’s learning.
It’s a sizeable school with fantastic facilities and is also a ‘Microsoft showcase’ so each of the children has their own online account. This meant they are able to support remote schooling very effectively during the COVID lockdowns.
During my visit I met the school council - each one was voted into their post by their classmates so they understood very well what elections are all about.
Members of the council asked me a wide range of questions such as how it felt to meet the Queen, why they have to take SAT exams and if I had one wish, what would it be. Thank you for the challenging questions!
